CUSTOM MASKS

CUSTOM COMMISSION POLICY

Faust & Company would be happy to work with you to create your very own custom mask creation as long as the conditions are appropriate.

When hiring us to take on your custom mask making project, there are many factors to consider such as source material, deadlines, and budget.

As you read through the list of conditions below, please take inventory of the issues you need to resolve before contacting us for a quote.

  • Do you have a clear idea or concept already established?  This will help immeasurably to expedite the approval process.  We are willing to work with you to develop a concept if you are unsure of what you want.  However, charges often apply when you require us to do the concept design work.

  • Is the concept your own original idea, or is it something created by someone else?  I rarely agree to create a mask or prop replica from pop culture/movies/games.  There have been exceptions in the past, but usually only for very obscure and interesting non-commercially available pieces.  So please, don't be upset if I will not agree to create a mask based on your favorite comic book hero.

  • Do you have at least 4 weeks before you need the piece completed?  For most custom creations, we will need at least a month to sculpt, mold, cast, trim, paint, and strap the piece.

  • Are you willing to spend between $500 to $2000 on your custom made mask?  Custom work is extremely labor intensive.  Price will, of course, depend on the complexity and size of the piece, the materials needed, and the deadline.

After a cost estimate for materials and labor and an acceptable deadline are approved for your custom project, you will be required to make a deposit of half of the total project cost (non-refundable) before the work will commence.  Once the deposit has been made, the timeline for completion will begin.

During the construction process, you will have several instances where you will be able to approve the progress before the next phase.

When the custom piece is complete and approved by you, the remainder of the project cost will be required before the item is shipped.

In almost all cases (unless included in the agreement), the rights to reproduce the design from the mold/molds created will be owned exclusively by Faust & Company.

If you feel like you meet the criteria, and agree to the general terms, use our contact page to send us a message with a brief outline of your project (it will not allow you to send pictures). We will then email you a complete outline of our process to review. You may then reply to that email with any photos/concept art you may have. After reviewing your request, we will notify you what the next steps will be.

We reserve the right to decline any project for any reason.
